Ruskin has great insights into medieval architecture especially in Italy but he is bigoted against the Renaissance so beware of that. Henry James took him to task for that and James was right. However, as long as you are aware of Ruskin's prejudicial views of Renaissance art and architecture his books can be interesting.
This is a retyped version of his book the font of which was too small to risk my eyesight; I returned it asking for a replacement which hasn't yet arrived. I'm sure the information is worthy, I just couldn't read it.
